Jeff Smith has been in the technology industry for over 20 years, oscillating between management and individual contributor. Jeff currently serves as the Director of Production Operations for Centro, an advertising software company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Jeff is passionate about DevOps transformations in organizations large and small, with a particular interest in the psychological aspects of problems in companies. He lives in Chicago with his wife Stephanie and their two kids Ella and Xander.
Jeff is currently writing a book Operational Anti-Patterns with DevOps Solutions with Manning publishing due out in Spring of 2020, but available now via their early access program. He’s also the chapter president of Blacks in Technology where he strives to introduce the community to the different opportunities in the technology field.
Joe Laha is an event technology professional and devopsdays Minneapolis organizer; he usually edits ADO instead of appearing on it. He enjoys cycling, homebrew, heavy metal guitar, and arguing about sci-fi TV of the 1990s.
Bridget Kromhout is a Principal Program Manager at Microsoft, focusing on the open source Kubernetes ecosystem. Her CS degree emphasis was in theory, but she now deals with the concrete (if “cloud” can be considered tangible). After 15 years as an operations engineer, she traded being on call for being on a plane. A frequent speaker and program committee member for tech conferences, she leads the devopsdays organization globally and the devops community at home in Minneapolis. Matt Stratton is a DevOps Advocate at PagerDuty, where he helps dev and ops teams advance the practice of their craft and become more operationally mature. He collaborates with PagerDuty customers and industry thought leaders in the broader DevOps community, and back in the day, his license plate actually said “DevOps”.
Matt has over 20 years of experience in IT operations, ranging from large financial institutions such as JPMorganChase and internet firms, including Apartments.com. He is a sought-after speaker internationally, presenting at Agile, DevOps, and ITSM focused events, including ChefConf, DevOpsDays, Interop, PINK, and others worldwide. Matt is the founder and co-host of the popular Arrested DevOps podcast, as well as a global organizer of the DevOpsDays set of conferences.
He lives in Chicago and has three awesome kids, whom he loves just a little bit more than he loves Doctor Who. He is currently on a mission to discover the best phở in the world.
Trevor Hess is a Partner Solution Architect focusing on Microsoft at Chef Software, working with Microsoft to ensure that Chef is delighting customers and prospects on Windows and the many parts inside Azure!
