Show Notes

Guests

Julian Dunn

Julian Dunn

Engineering lead at Chef. Interested in tech, startups, urban issues, transportation, journalism.

Ryn Daniels

Ryn Daniels

Ryn Daniels is an operations engineer and sparkly devops princess whose goal in life is to never again be a one-person ops team. They live in New York where they spend far too much time in the data center and not enough time making hot sauce and homebrewing beer. Ryn is not a member of any pink-haired thought leadership conspiracy which emphatically does not exist.

JP Morgenthal

JP Morgenthal

I represent Enterprise IT & the realities of delivering real business solutions in a rapidly changing landscape.

Bridget Kromhout

Bridget Kromhout

Bridget Kromhout is an operations engineer at DramaFever, the largest streaming video site for international content. She’s been paying the bills with Unix sysadmin work since the last time ‘flannel shirt over babydoll dress’ was a trendy look. Her CS degree emphasis was in theory, but she now deals with the concrete (if ‘cloud’ can be considered tangible). She likes finicky wide-column data stores, stats-driven monitoring, formal grammars, bicycle-powered camping, and butchering pumpkins for home canning. In her spare time she helps organize her local AWS meetup and devopsdays Minneapolis.

Patrick Debois

Patrick Debois

In order to understand current IT organizations, Patrick has taken a habit of changing both his consultancy role and the domain which he works in: sometimes as a developer, manager, sysadmin, tester and even as the customer.

He first presented concepts on Agile Infrastructure at Agile 2008 in Toronto, and in 2009 he organized the first devopsdays . Since then he has been promoting the notion of ‘devops’ to exchange ideas between these groups and show how they can help each other to achieve better results in business.

He now works as Director of DevOps Relations and Advisor at @snyksec

Hosts

Matt Stratton

Matt Stratton (he/him)

Matty Stratton is the Director of Developer Relations at Aiven, a well-known member of the DevOps community, and a global organizer of the DevOpsDays set of conferences.

Matty has over 20 years of experience in IT operations and is a sought-after speaker internationally, presenting at Agile, DevOps, and cloud engineering focused events worldwide. Demonstrating his keen insight into the changing landscape of technology, he recently changed his license plate from DEVOPS to KUBECTL.

He lives in Chicago and has three awesome kids, whom he loves just a little bit more than he loves Diet Coke.
